Curriculum Vitae
Melissa is a passionate nature enthusiast and outdoor educator. Hiking, climbing, foraging, and natural waters are just a few favorites! She is the proud parent of an incredible four year old and a frisbee catching cattle dog.
When asked about her future in the health and medical field she says, “I’m currently interested in the interdisciplinary fields of Ethnobotany, Ethnopharmacognosy, and Permaculture; Expanding Western colonization has created an interconnected ecological crises of both the depletion of human digestive microbiome and the depletion of environmental macrobiome caused by unsustainable agriculture practices and food production. I believe native botanicals as food medicine is the missing link, and the solution to the crises."
